DALAY DUNKEL CORONA
At some point the Corona was the benchmark against which all other cigar sizes were measured. Even now with sizes like “Half Corona”, Double Corona” and “Corona Gorda” we still refer to this proud and storied size. Fun Fact: many “Slow Smoking” competitions use the Corona as their go to size. As with almost all Dalay Dunkel sizes the Corona is a box pressed shape. We really like the accentuated almost rectangular footprint. So, we had to have a box pressed Corona, too. If you look at it from the side it looks quite flat. Nonetheless, it draws very well and delivers plenty of creamy textured and sweet tasting smoke.
Due to its thinner ring gauge it tends to be a cigar size that requires a tad more attention. It likes a slow and measured draw to stay relatively cool and to be able to release all its flavors smoothly.
‘Dunkel‘ in German translates to dark and describes the flavor profile very well. Dark roasted nuts and coffee, dark dried fruits and dark sugar cane are the cigar’s main aromas. Pair it with a strong IPA or a deep red wine. Dalay Dunkel cigars are all hand-rolled long-filler cigars which are made in the Dominican Republic by our own tabacalera Zauberberg. The carefully selected blend by our own master blender Michael Grossklos makes these mild to medium bodied cigars in strength and very creamy in texture.
